We were just informed by one of our residents that their child who was using the bouncy house yesterday for extended periods of time has been diagnosed today with a Staph Infection.
According to the pediatrician, staph infections have been recently known to be caught from Bounce Houses. Though we may be uncertain that the infection was due from the bounce house, other children may have been infected. The pediatrician did say that they have seen an extreme number of staph infections recently.
Staph infections are highly contagious through direct contact. The incubation period for symptoms to appear is up to 10 days after exposure. Symptoms will appear as a fast spreading, raised rash, with bumps that are crusty. Common areas include the arms, legs, and face.
Please keep a vigil eye on your children for any symptoms. I will also be notifying the rental company of the bounce house of this situation.
